I would like to propose a panel about any collaborative effort among teachers and students working as peers to create new ways of assessment using media and web 2.0 tools.
We are working on an ePortfolio pilot with a group of students and teachers at Somerville High School in Ma. The goal of the ePortfolio is to demonstrate students capabilities that go beyond test score and that can not be demonstrated through standardized tests.
We also see the ePortfolios as objects to engage the community in dialogs around youth learning and to empower the youth through expression of what they believe to be the most important topics of their learning trajectory and life experience.
